Common Questions

  • What is leadership coaching?
Coaching is about you as a whole person: your values, goals, work, balance, fulfillment and life purpose. I work with highly motivated individuals like you to develop their own definition of success. Most clients want to achieve specific goals so they can lead a more fulfilling life. We will design a plan that is specific to your needs and aspirations.
  • How long does a coaching relationship last?
A coaching relationship can last three to six months or longer. It really will depend on what the client seeks to achieve in his or her coaching journey.
  • How does coaching differ from therapy?
Whereas therapy looks in the rearview mirror to find past wounds, co-active coaching is all about the present and the future.
  • Why is a certified coach important?
There are many coaches available to you. However, not all coaches are formally trained or formally certified. The leading coaching school is the Coaching Training Institute (CTI) and is accedited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF). Some credentialing facts include: Clients were more likely to be satisfied with their coaching experiences and recommended coaching to others when they worked with an ICF Credentialed coach. • What is co-active coaching?
Co-active coaching is a form of conversation with inherent ground rules regarding certain qualities that must be present: respect, openness, compassion, empathy, and a rigorous commitment to speaking the truth. We believe that coaching is about discovery, awareness and choice. It is fundamentally rooted in the idea that all of us are "naturally creative, resourceful and whole" [source: Co-active Coaching - House, Sandahl]
